Where Pigs Fly
As part of our focus on animal welfare, The Deluminators are supporting the ‘Where Pigs Fly’ farm animal sanctuary in the lower Hunter Valley (NSW). Where Pigs Fly offers a forever home to farm animals, free from abuse and abandonment, as well as life-long protection to those who were headed for slaughter. Where Pigs Fly endeavours to educate their visitors on living a more compassionate lifestyle – for themselves, the animals and the planet.
In May 2017, we sponsored one of their rescue animals – Harriet the pig! Destined to be someone’s dinner, Harriet arrived undernourished at the sanctuary. She is now an ambassador for all the pigs on factory farms who have no voice. This year-long sponsorship assists in covering the cost of feed and veterinary care for Harriet. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed towards our fundraising drives in the past as this has allowed us to sponsor Harriet!
In August 2018, we sponsored Gary the sheep! Gary was abandoned at a sales yard at just a few hours old. His mother had been sold and he was left behind all alone. Luckily, a kind-hearted farm worker took the young lamb into their home before being rescued by Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary. This rambunctious lamb has quickly developed a newfound confidence and energy, bounding from one end of the paddock to the other. This year-long sponsorship assists in covering the cost of feed and veterinary care for Gary.
